Frequently Asked Questions

What color schemes can I generate?

You can generate six types of color schemes: Complementary (opposite colors), Analogous (adjacent colors), Triadic (three evenly spaced colors), Tetradic (four colors forming a rectangle), Monochromatic (different shades of the same color), and Split-Complementary (base color plus two colors adjacent to its complement).

How does image color extraction work?

Upload any image and click on any pixel to extract its color. The tool uses HTML5 Canvas to analyze the image and get the exact RGB values at the clicked position, which are then converted to HEX and HSL formats for your palette generation.

What export formats are available?

You can export your palette in three formats: CSS (with color variables and classes), JSON (structured data with HEX, RGB, and HSL values), and PNG image (visual representation of your palette). All exports include proper naming and can be directly used in your projects.

Can I modify the generated colors?

Yes! You can click on any color in the generated palette to edit it manually. The tool also provides "Rotate Colors" and "New Variation" buttons to generate alternative versions of your palette while maintaining the color harmony.

Is the tool free to use?

Yes, the Color Palette Generator is completely free to use. There are no limits on the number of palettes you can generate, colors you can extract, or exports you can create. No registration or account required.

What image formats are supported?

The tool supports all common image formats including JPEG, PNG, GIF, and WebP. Maximum file size is 5MB. Images are processed entirely in your browser - they are never uploaded to our servers.
